Politics - A definition

Politics [pol-i-tiks] – noun ( used with a singular or plural verb )

The science or art of political government. (Dictionary.com)

This is really not a bad definition, but politics is better understood by looking at the root origins of the words that make it up:

Poly - from the Greek word for many; and
Tics - being blood sucking parasites.

Thus a more accurate definition is arrived at:

Politics: The science or art of many blood sucking parasites. ;-)

Politics - Birther Madness

Recently the world was witness to the spectacle of the President of the United States being harassed, harangued, and cajoled into publishing the long form of his birth certificate. This document is full of personal information about Barack Hussein Obama the Second, but this whole insane circus tells us much much more about the people who wasted our time with it.

Firstly; they and the right wing are intensely xenophobic. They live in white protestant America and they want it to stay that way. The birther movement is a way for them to cast Obama as a foreigner and to reject his leadership of the country. This "Yer ain't born here; git lost!" sentiment goes over very well with the RNRW (Red Neck Right Wing) demographic.

Secondly; they are not interested at all in dealing with the real issues facing the world. Revolution sweeping the middle east, natural disasters, unemployment, health care and what do they think is important? A birth certificate. The President was right when he said "We Do Not Have Time for this Kind of Silliness".

Thirdly; the birthers are in this for personal gain. The poster child for this point is none other than Donald Trump. His whole fake presidential run with a birther plank was solely designed to attract attention to him, and his silly "reality" TV show the Probationer or was it the Recruit? Tenderfoot? Greenhorn? I don't know or care. Then when the long form was produced, all that Donald could say in his defense was that he was really proud of what he had accomplished. Accomplished!!! What did he accomplish besides waste everyone's time!

Finally; birthers, like most conspiracy theory wacko-doodles are tenacious. The latest I'm hearing is outrage over how the document produced was a fake because it had been "Photo Shopped". They even cart out "experts" to confirm this. Now lets see, a 50ish year old document is scanned and released electronically... hmm. Common sense says that it was probably published using some sort of software! Which means NOTHING!

All I can say is that whole thing leaves me wishing fervently for two things:
1) That all of this silly nonsense will die down and go away, and that
2) I pray "The Donald" Trump really DOES run for president! (Jon Stewart)
